Recording sessions for new CD complete

On 8th and 9th April the recording sessions for a new portrait CD of Ian's work took place in the wonderful Cork School of Music. The Vanbrugh Quartet, Cathal Roche, Hugh Tinney and Malachy Robinson recorded re:play for improvising tenor saxophone, piano, string quartet and double bass and the Vanbrughs recorded Ian's recent work in celebration of Seamus Heaney's 70th birthday, Across a clear blue sky as well as a brand new work, im Schatten.

John Mercer, owner of the British Riverrun label, produced the sessions and it is hoped the CD will be ready for release in 2011.
